The baby boomers have been creating an entire new demographic group—the “ERABAs” (Early Retired And Beginning Again-ers.)  Many people who are 55 or older, have been “downsized,” “right-sized” or have had their “positions eliminated.”  No matter what the terminology, they are starting over!  If you are part of this new group, this may be the opportunity of your lifetime—a chance to do something that you have always enjoyed, but now you may be able to earn a living doing it!

Your new career can be a complete change from the previous one.  Everything that you disliked about the job that you had for so long is now behind you and you can experience a new beginning to the next phase of your life.

Since you are not alone in this, many resources have become available for people in this position.  Many of us have become more environmentally aware over the past few years and here is an opportunity to do something to give back to the planet.  Perhaps there is a career idea that combines eco-friendly products with your marketing or sales experience.  You may want to teach about the environment, or conduct tours to inform travelers about parts of the world or animals that have become endangered due to our negligence.
