Office Supplies

Paper
The most used and wasted item in the office is paper and paper-related products, such as packaging.  Buy paper items in bulk whenever possible to reduce excessive packaging waste.  Remember, recycling works only when there is a demand on the other side for a product, so try to buy paper made from 100% recycled content.  There are many options for paper, stationery and filing needs. Take a look at suppliers on this page who offer great recycled values.

Other office supplies
Items you don’t think of as being green, in fact, are.  Many companies are using recycled materials to manufacture their products.  This can be seen on the packaging as a percentage of Post Consumer Recycled content.  Office Depot has a great page on their website that shows many products not usually considered “green.”  Examples are an office chair using 60% PCR, a plastic presentation binder using 90% PCR and a letter tray using 30% PCR.  To really make a dent, use recycled ink and toner cartridges whenever possible.
