In today’s increasingly difficult financial times, there are a few bright lights out there. The most important factor however, before you look at any form of credit, is getting your facts straight. You need to have a plan. This means calculating how much credit you need and how will the money be used. How will it help you start or improve your business? And, most importantly, how do you plan to pay it back?

If you can’t show someone how you are going to pay it back, they have no reason to lend you the money. The best way to create this plan is to use a business plan software program. I recommend Business Plan Pro. I have used it for over ten years. It is extremely easy to use and well-organized. It has templates for typical businesses and endless reference material and tutorials to help you create a winning plan. Everything becomes clear when you see it in print and you realize, “Wow, I need to sell X amount every month just to break even!” This software is a great tool to use to lay out your plan, find problems and make adjustments. It is far better to find problems in the planning stage than when you are out of options in the real world.
